Richel
McNabb, CPA
Manager
Richel started working with Nigro
& Nigro immediately after graduating
from California State University
San Marcos in 2006. She had several
years of experience in Finance working
at a large Healthcare facility,
a non-profit organization in San
Diego before deciding to shift gears
and continue her professional career
in Public Accounting.
Richel is very
dedicated to her work. She always
has a positive attitude in providing
clients their bookkeeping, tax preparation
and other accounting needs, as well
as preparing and helping them understand
their financial statements.
She is currently
working with a variety of clients
which include individuals, partnerships,
corporations, privately-owned businesses,
and nonprofit organizations.
Richel moved to
Temecula in 2003 with her husband
and two kids. She likes to spend
time with her family whether it’s
just driving them around to their
extracurricular activities or just
watching TV and eating popcorn.
She enjoys playing the piano as
a form of relaxation and also wants
to learn to play the guitar for
their annual Father’s Day
camping trips.

James Whittington, CPA, CGFM
Manager
James began his professional career as an intern at Nigro & Nigro in 2008. After graduating from CSU San Marcos in 2009 he began working full time at the firm. James left the firm for a very short time to work as an AB 1200 Coordinator at the Riverside County Office of Education, where he was responsible for reviewing cash flows, interim reports and providing assistance to Fiscal Directors and Chief Business Officials at Districts throughout the county. He returned to the firm in 2012 and was promoted to Manager in January 2013.
James is exceptionally knowledgeable in all areas of LEA finance, but particularly enjoys working on cash flows and multi-year projections. James is tech savvy and a self-proclaimed “spreadsheet geek”.
He is very personable and will always go out of his way to make sure client issues are solved in a timely manner. He strives to provide that extra level of customer service to clients and employees alike, and plays an integral role in the development of new staff. He is currently focusing on the firm’s audit services, business services, and fraud prevention and detection services for a number of the firm’s clients.
James has lived in the Temecula Valley for the majority of his life and currently resides in Menifee with his wife. When James is not working, or studying for his CFE certification, he enjoys surfing, snowboarding and perfecting his coveted brisket.

Jackie Benson, CPA
Supervisor
Jackie began her public accounting career with Nigro & Nigro immediately after obtaining her accounting degree with National University in 2010. Prior to starting a career in accounting, she was an Escrow Officer and Branch Manager for one of the largest title insurance companies in the nation. Her next career goal is to become a Certified Fraud Examiner.
Jackie has a very cheerful and personal approach in working with clients. She is loyal and committed, and takes pride in being resourceful. Jackie’s clients appreciate that she takes the time to understand the challenges at hand while providing a customized and solutions-based approach.
Jackie currently works with a variety of clients including school districts, charter schools, and non-profit organizations. She enjoys working on different engagements including audit, consulting, tax, and fraud investigations.
Jackie has lived in Temecula with her husband and two kids since 2003. When she is not working, she likes to stay on the go, often enjoying shopping, siteseeing, traveling, and spending time with her extended family. Being a San Diego native, Jackie is an avid fan of the Chargers and Julian apple pie. Her other hobbies include reading and scrapbooking, and now that she has passed the CPA exam, she hopes to pursue her interest in photography.

Bethany Figueroa
Supervisor
Bethany started working at Nigro & Nigro in October 2011 after spending the previous four years working at the Riverside County Office of Education. She graduated from California Baptist University in 2007 and soon went back to CBU to pursue her Masters of Business Administration, which she completed in 2010. She then decided to pursue her professional career in Public Accounting.
Bethany is dedicated to working with her clients to understand the needs of their organization so that she can properly assist with the unique and complex issues that they face. She also puts her clients at ease through her positive and easy-going approach.
She is currently working with a variety of clients including Non-Profit Organizations, Charter Schools, and School Districts.
Bethany lives in Murrieta with her husband. She enjoys spending time with her family, participating in choir, traveling with her husband, and visiting botanical gardens. She also likes to relax by baking, visiting the Eastern Sierras, and enjoying a good cup of coffee.

Edna
Flores, CPA
Supervisor
Edna began her public accounting
career at Nigro & Nigro in February
2009 after graduating from California
State University San Marcos three
months earlier. She was promoted
to senior accountant in 2010 and
became a supervisor in 2012.
Edna always has
a ready smile, and her approachable
demeanor is something that her clients
have come to appreciate. But she
also has a demonstrated ability
to work out problems and find workable
solutions, which her clients appreciate
even more.
She currently
provides service to a wide variety
of the firm’s clients including
primarily school districts, homeowners
associations, and individuals.
Edna moved to
Temecula in 2005 with her husband
and two daughters. She enjoys cruising
with her family to explore the beaches
of Mexico. She also appreciates
the outdoors with her family by
playing badminton and riding bikes
around the neighborhood. She is
also a huge fan of Zumba fitness
classes and attends them regularly.

Peter
Glenn, CPA
Supervisor
Peter joined Nigro & Nigro in
February 2011 after spending the
previous two and a half years at
another public accounting firm.
He graduated from California State
University San Marcos in 2008. He
also had several years of experience
as a regional manager for a retail
paint company before refocusing
his career.
Peter has a great
knack for getting to know his clients
and understanding their needs. His
easy-going manner, combined with
his dry sense of humor puts his
clients at ease, but his ability
to break down complex situations
and make them understandable is
what his clients have come to appreciate
about him.
He is currently
working with a variety of clients
which include school districts,
charter schools, special districts,
nonprofit organizations, as well
as Indian tribal governments.
Peter lives in
Temecula with
his wife and two kids. With one
in college and one in high school,
his free time is limited, but he
still finds time for relaxing by
following the L.A. Dodgers, reading,
jogging, listening to music, and
searching for the perfect sandwich.

Anabel Gonzalez
Supervisor Before joining Nigro & Nigro, Anabel worked for the Perris Union High School District as an AVID tutor at Heritage High School. She then graduated from Cal State San Bernardino March 2010 and began her public accounting career at the firm in April 2010 as a staff accountant. She was promoted to senior accountant in 2012 and to Supervisor in 2013.
Anabel’s clients appreciate her positive “can-do” attitude and the fact that she is always in great spirits. That type of attitude can be infectious, as many of her clients and colleagues would agree.
Anabel’s main focus is working with K-12 school districts and charter schools, but she especially enjoys helping clients with special projects, such as auditing Prop.39 bonds and digital attendance testing.
She currently live in Perris with her parents and three sisters. Anabel loves to spend a lot of time with family and friends for the holidays, celebrations, or just small gatherings. She also added a new member to the family – a maltese/poodle mix puppy.
